Portable sawmills — can be moved to the log, useful for remote or small operations. Less capital, more flexibility.

Stationary sawmills — fixed setup, often with higher capacity, more powerful, better suited for continuous or industrial operations.

Band saw mills — use a continuous loop blade; good for thin, accurate cuts, less waste.
