Use the following commissioning sequence before regular production:
1. Prepare the site. Provide a firm, level base with enough space for logs, boards, maintenance, and safe operator
movement.
2. Align the track and bed. Check rail level, spacing, parallelism, and carriage movement.
3. Inspect the blade system. Verify blade orientation, tension, tracking, guide position, tooth set, and sharpness.
4. Secure the log. Use dogs, clamps, hydraulic arms, or other approved devices to prevent movement.
5. Select a conservative feed rate. Begin with a manageable test log and adjust based on motor load, cut quality, heat,
and blade behavior.
6. Observe the first cuts. Check board thickness, straightness, surface finish, sawdust flow, and signs of vibration.
7. Record the settings. Note species, log diameter, moisture condition, blade type, feed setting, and result.
8. Create a maintenance schedule. Include blade inspection, sharpening, tension checks, lubrication, cleaning, and
hydraulic inspection.
If a log contains visible metal, stones, or heavy contamination, remove or isolate the affected section before sawing.
Unexpected blade impact can damage equipment and create a safety hazard.
